#36 – A Pink Poppy

I saw this poppy in a pot outside the bank. I got very frustrated trying to paint it, especially the leaves. I long to have the lovely, loose strokes I see in some watercolor paintings, but I tend to get bogged down with all the details. I wasn’t at all happy with the result, but then gave the leaves a water wash that lightened them somewhat, and now, at least it is passable. I still don’t love it though.
